JÈSTHAM Shares Love and Inspiration at Karya Murni Orphanage in Medan

Jessica Thamrin, affectionately known as Jestham, along with Thomas Iskandar (Koko) and the entire JÈSTHAM family, recently spread joy by visiting an orphanage in Medan. Before heading to the orphanage, Jestham and her team took the time to shop at a supermarket. Filled with enthusiasm and happiness, they selected various groceries and essentials such as rice, cooking oil, sugar, and snacks—all to be shared with the orphanage family. The fun moments of picking out these necessities were captured, radiating pure joy.

Finally, the awaited day arrived! Excited children of all ages at the orphanage warmly welcomed the JÈSTHAM family. Together, they worked hand in hand to unload the groceries that had been brought. Jestham took the time to have heartfelt conversations with the friendly and cheerful children. One of them was Bina, a 16-year-old girl. With humility, Bina shared her aspirations—to become whatever she can be—and her love for religious studies, which she considers a gift from God. Her story of coming to the orphanage by her own choice, accompanied by her father who later passed away, added a deeply moving touch to the atmosphere.

Jestham then turned to a 14-year-old boy next to Bina, who loved singing. He even joyfully sang a worship song together with Jestham. This boy also shared that his mother once told him she wanted to see him succeed and make her proud one day—even if she had to watch from heaven. Though he initially struggled to believe it, he now understands that his mother has indeed gone ahead to heaven. Hearing this, Jestham offered encouragement, reassuring him that we have God to rely on and that every prayer will be answered in due time. She also reminded him of his mother’s message: never stop pursuing education and his dreams. Jestham emphasized that God sees every struggle and exhaustion, so all we need to do is stay motivated, never give up on our dreams, and leave the rest to Him.

Togetherness and Warmth with the Orphanage Family

After the warm conversations, Jestham and the team also took time to play and laugh with the children. Many of them were special, talented kids—such as a university student from a top university in North Sumatra and a scholarship recipient who was skilled at playing the piano. Before the event concluded, Jestham made sure to hand out red envelopes (angpao) to all the children as a way of spreading happiness and blessings for what God has given, so they may in turn become a blessing to others who hold onto hope.

The event ended with smiles etched on many faces. Some of them may not have been able to see the beauty of that day with their own eyes as most do, but their hearts truly felt the happiness, warmth of love, and sweetness of their welcome to the JÈSTHAM team who visited them that day.
