From Jokes to Blessings: Jestham & Abun Brighten Employees' Day

West Medan, Medan City – Amid the bustling activity of a shopping mall, where every step is a pursuit of needs and desires, kindness often appears unexpectedly, crafting small yet heartwarming stories. Jesica Thamrin, affectionately known as Jestham, along with Abun, embarked on a mission to spread warmth, livened up by Abun’s playful banter that never failed to lighten the mood. They wandered through the aisles, searching for opportunities to sprinkle joy.

Their steps paused at a stall selling an assortment of bread and pastries. The sweet aroma in the air seemed to beckon them, but it wasn’t just the treats that caught their attention. Abun, with his spontaneous humor, initiated an unexpected interaction. “Miss, I want to buy something, but I don’t want to pay—just one, please,” he joked. Surprisingly, the female employee tending the stall responded lightly, “Sure.” That simple reply instantly drew disbelieving smiles. How could such pure kindness be given to a stranger, even in jest? That genuine gesture, though starting as a joke, truly touched Jestham and Abun’s hearts.

Returning to their original mission, Jestham and Abun busied themselves selecting various breads and cakes. Amid their excitement, their eyes landed on a small box labeled, “Tips for Our Trip to Sabang.” Curiosity got the better of them. Another employee confirmed that the tip box was indeed a collective effort to fulfill their team’s dream of exploring the beauty of Sabang. Their determination and hard work to achieve this goal became a source of inspiration.

Fate has its own way of working. When the money was counted, the total came to exactly one million rupiah. Jestham remarked that it was a blessing from God for the two women running the stall—a gift that might bring them closer to their dream of visiting Sabang. The happiness on their faces was undeniable. The weariness of daily routines usually restrained their smiles, but now they blossomed brightly. Abun added his encouragement, reminding everyone how admirable their hard work was, emphasizing that those who strive for their livelihood deserve recognition, as it’s far more exhausting for those without work.

Amid life’s hustle and struggles, even the smallest act of kindness can become a beacon of hope, igniting joy and painting smiles. Jestham and Abun’s journey wasn’t just about sharing material gifts—it was about spreading inspiration, proving that every good deed, no matter how simple, holds the power to lift spirits and bring dreams closer to reality.
