Jestham's Bulk Purchase and a Touching Smile Behind a Frangipani Flower

Denpasar, Bali City - (08/09/25) In a quiet corner, the soft smile of a mother selling frangipani flowers greeted Jestham's arrival. A dialogue opened with a simple question, "How much for one, Ma'am?" With honesty and warmth, the mother explained that flower prices had recently soared, reaching Rp3,000 per flower. Yet, with her characteristic kindness, she offered a more friendly price of Rp5,000 for two if bought in larger quantities. Her patience and honesty provided the first glimpse of her sincerity.

Jestham's curiosity led her to ask about the remaining stock of flowers. The mother promptly counted and mentioned there were approximately 125 frangipani blossoms left. The conversation then flowed towards the mother's daily sales routine, revealing that she had already sold a lot, around 300 flowers, before Jestham arrived. The fragrant aroma of the flowers and the beauty of their two colors, yellow and orange, added to the impression of simplicity and beauty in this moment.

However, behind the casual conversation about flowers, the mother's personal life began to unfold. When asked about her origin, she said she was from Banyuwangi, Java, while her husband was from Medan. The traces of her life felt deep and full of journeys. Though seemingly simple, this chat became a gateway to understanding that there were more stories behind her resilient smile.

Jestham then made a momentous decision. After calculating the total for all the flowers, she decided to buy the mother's entire stock of frangipani flowers, worth Rp330,000. When the money was handed over, the mother's expression changed drastically from a smile to being deeply moved. "Oh, this is so much," she uttered in disbelief. Jestham responded with heartwarming words, "It's alright; this is your blessing for today." In her emotional state, the mother expressed her gratitude and prayed for goodness and abundant blessings for Jestham and her family.

The mother's tears of emotion overflowed. When Jestham asked, "Why are you sad, Ma'am?" Her answer touched the deepest corners of the heart. "Yes, I'm sad because... there are still good people who are kind to me." That simple sentence revealed how an act of kindness, which might have been ordinary for Jestham, held profound meaning for her. That sincere kindness was like an oasis in the desert of the life she was living.

Diving deeper, the mother disclosed the life burdens she had been carrying. She suffers from a serious diabetes condition and a back problem that required her to undergo surgery twice and nearly a third time. This confession illustrated the heavy struggles she faces. Selling flowers on the roadside is not merely about making a living but also a way to persevere amidst her limitations and vulnerable health condition.

Jestham's action of buying all her flowers was not just an ordinary transaction. For the mother, it was an "unexpected blessing" that lightened her burden, even if just momentarily. This kindness, performed sincerely, proves that any help, no matter how small, can have a significant impact on the receiver.

This episode of Jestham's bulk purchase isn't just about buying all the flowers from a mother. It is a real portrait of how a kind heart can touch someone's life in the most unexpected way. Behind the soft smile and resilience of the mother selling flowers lies a poignant story of the struggle against illness and the harshness of life. This story reminds us that everyone we meet might be carrying a heavy burden, and a little kindness from us can become a light that brightens their day.
