Jestham's Treat Mission: A Two-Minute Shopping Spree for a Parking Attendant
Medan City, North Sumatra - (22/10/25) Jestham once again met a parking attendant she had encountered before. This time, the chance to go on a shopping spree fell to the same man. Jestham invited him to shop for free at a minimarket, but with only two minutes on the clock.
The man is named Mr. Didi. When asked what he needed, his answer was simple: rice. Unfortunately, rice was out of stock. So, within those two minutes, with Jestham's help, Mr. Didi tried to grab as many items as possible, such as eggs, instant noodles, frozen food, soap, coffee, children's milk, and other necessities.

After shopping, Jestham chatted further with Mr. Didi. It turns out his work burden is very heavy. Every day, he must collect parking fees amounting to Rp 510,000. He works from 9 am to 11 pm. His legs often swell from standing for too long. The net income he can bring home to his family is only about Rp 200,000 per day.
Mr. Didi also shared about his family. He once had a daughter he was very close to, but she passed away at the age of 10 in 2020 due to lupus. Now, he only has one son who is still in junior high school. His only hope is that his son can be successful and not have to work as hard as he does.

Although his life is tough, Mr. Didi is a kind person. He often understands and waives the parking fee for ride-hailing drivers who have no money, because he believes sustenance will come from other sources. His wife also takes on odd jobs to help with the family's income.
At the end of their meeting, Jestham gave Mr. Didi some extra money to buy the rice he desperately needed. Mr. Didi accepted it with gratitude.

This story reminds us that around us, many people struggle hard in silence. A small act of kindness, like two minutes of free shopping, can mean a lot to lighten their burden and to hear their life stories.
